“Family Connections” at the Cedar Rapids Public Library

As a parent do you ever feel like you’re on a scavenger hunt to find the resources, activities and information for young children that you need? We want to change that!

The “Family Connections” project based at the Downtown Cedar Rapids Public Library is working to make it easier, more fun and more natural to connect with “good stuff” for your child. Public Libraries are community gathering places that are open weekdays, evenings and weekends – whenever parents are most able to come. This makes them a natural place to base other child-family resources.

The Cedar Rapids Public Library and partnering “Family Connections” organizations put together a full “learning & play” schedule for parents and kids each month. This includes:

  • Great library resources (books, story times, CDs, DVDs, computer games, e-tablets) that are always available.

  • Fun/helpful activities and programs (parent workshops, child screenings, parent-child activities etc) offered by community groups on a regularly scheduled basis at the library.

To find out more about upcoming family activities offered at the Cedar Rapids Public Library, go to the Calendar of Events at: www.crlibrary.org OR request to get on our e-mail alert list by contacting: familyconnectionslibrary@gmail.com
